About Us
Tracing its origins back to 1951, the Ijevan Wine Brandy Factory distinguished position among Armenia’s oldest wineries. Situated in the city of Ijevan, Tavush Province, within the valleys of the Agstev and Spitak Jur rivers, the factory is nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by mountains draped in lush deciduous forests that periodically transition into alpine meadows. This privileged geographical location, combined with favorable climatic conditions, lends the factory’s products an unmistakably distinctive character.
In 2005, the factory was acquired by businessman E. L. Egiazaryan, leading to significant transformations and breakthrough changes. Through the implementation of more flexible policies in recent years, the Ijevan Wine Brandy Factory has intensified its production efforts and significantly broadened its range to encompass around thirty varieties. Noteworthy investments were channeled towards refurbishing the factory, adopting cutting-edge technologies and equipment, and establishing exclusive vineyards. Additionally, the company successfully attracted experts with advanced degrees and international educational backgrounds. These collective measures empower the factory to stay ahead of modern industry requisites and scientific accomplishments.
The factory produces high-quality brandies, grape and fruit wines, sparkling wines, vodkas, juices, and a diverse selection of preserves. “Mkhitar Gosh,” “Sargon,” “Ijevan Red,” “Ijevan White,” “Areni,” “Ijevan Selected,” “Sapor,” and others, crafted at the Ijevan Wine Brandy Factory, are among the most well-known and widely recognized wines not only in the local market but also beyond its borders.
The Secret of Unparalleled Aroma and Taste
As of today, the vineyards of the Ijevan Wine Brandy Factory cover an area of over 300 hectares of land. These orchards are situated in the Ararat Valley. In the process of selecting and processing grape varieties, experienced specialists from the National Agrarian University of Armenia play an integral role.
The main supply of grapes for the factory comes from the Tavush Province. The favorable climate and fertile soil of the Ararat Valley guarantee the growth of premium-quality grapes, enabling the creation of brandies boasting exceptional aromas and refined wines. This harmonious fusion of land and climate plays a vital role in shaping the unique character and quality of the factory’s products.
